2008 christmas cards
I tried to take a simple approach to Christmas cards. But I just couldn’t do it. What I wanted to do was design a set of templates for you to choose from simply because I figured it would make it easier on both of us. But what I discovered is that it is impossible to design a one size fits all template for anybody. What if your very favorite photo is horizontal, but your very favorite Christmas card only holds a vertical photo? Would you choose a different card to accommodate your favorite photo, or choose a different photo to accommodate your favorite card? What if you love one card, but it has more cutesy wording and you would rather it have a deeper religious message? Would you choose a different design just so you could have different wording? Well, I didn’t want you to do either. I want you to have it all.
So here’s what I am going to do. I’ve tried to organize these templates according to color scheme and design, but these are not representative of all designs I have to offer. They are just examples of some of the things I can do. To give you a feel for the cards and allow you to choose the direction you would like me to go with yours. The wording and layouts are just an examples. You can change any of it!
When you choose your card design, you aren’t saying that you want it to be exactly like one of the designs below, but you are saying that you want your card to have a similar feeling and color scheme. Ok, if you are thinking, “Wait a minute, Kelly, that sounds hard. I hate making decisions.” Don’t worry, here’s all I need from you…
1) Do you want your card to be flat, traditional fold, or wide fold?
2) Which design theme is your favorite? Is there an element from the theme that you would love to have included on your card?
3) What would you like the wording on your card to say?
And that’s it. I’ll go from there to create a custom design. Just for you. After I show you the first proof, you can make one round of revisions. After that, there will be an additional design charge for any other changes.
First up, MODERN AND BRIGHT. I love this collection, because it is simple, trendy, and leaves the focus on your photos.

Here are few more elements that are available in this collection. If you love one of them and want to incorporate it into your card rather than one of the elements shown in the examples, just let me know!

Next up is SIMPLY CLASSIC. This collection is perfect for showcasing black and white photos, although you may select color photos for these as well. This set is more traditional, but still very clean lined and simple.
Finally, I have A SHABBY CHRISTMAS. This style is especially for those of you who like a little more ’stuff’. I usually take a more minimal approach to design, but I know that style is not for everyone, so I’ve tried to offer something with a little more embellishment in this collection.

There’s so many possibilities with this collection. If you like this style, I know it will be easy to design around your favorite photos. Here a few more samples of available items in the collection:

These are my featured themes for this year. Everything you see above is new and different from what I offered last year. However, last year’s designs are still available if you just can’t find anything that suits you perfectly. Unlike the featured themes, last year’s templates may not be customized. What you see is what you get (with the exception of the wording).
And finally, if you have an idea in mind for the perfect card and it’s nothing like what you see here, just ask! I can always design a custom, one-of-a-kind card just for you. (Custom designs will incur an additional design fee)
