About Kelly Stocksen Photography :

I’m basically just a person who loves to capture memories. And every time I pick up my camera to capture something, I find myself in awe. Not at all in awe of my own ability, but in awe of the beautiful world God created. In awe of the innocence of each tiny newborn, and the uniqueness of each child and of each family. And I’m thankful that He has given me the opportunity to capture that beauty, if only for a second, in a photograph. And I’d love to have the chance to share that with you.

a girl and her horse

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Shooting the senior session of this girl and her horse made me feel like I had stepped onto the movie set of  Flicka.  I loved shooting in such a cool new location and was feeling kinda like an authentic cowgirl around the horses and the land until we saw 2(!) snakes down by the creek. At that point I was pretty much missing the freshly mowed lawns at the city park. :)

I love it when I get the chance to photograph a girl who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. This girl was certainly one of those, and as I write this she serving on a mission trip in the Middle East. I am sure she would appreciate your prayers while she is gone.

Seriously, my jaw hit the ground with this gorgeous girl got out of the car and we had the best time capturing her senior photos this Spring. I felt like I was shooting an episode of America’s Next Top Model. You know, minus the crazy wigs, makeup, and outrageous sets. :)   And after spending some time with her and her super sweet family, I could tell she was just as gorgeous on the inside as she was on the outside. What a treat!

For Michael’s senior session, we explored some of his favorite places. A creek and field on his grandparent’s land, his high school football field, and some other spots around his small town. It was great to get to incorporate some of the places that were such a part of his high school years and I loved the chance to shoot in some ‘new to me’ spots.

Congrats, Michael on your graduation!

Location: lots of them :)

where to start? where to start?

Friday, April 17th, 2009

The last 2 weeks have been crazy busy with shoots, so I’m not sure where to even start with sneak peeks. Last week, I took photos for 3 different senior guys, who are each getting ready to graduate next month.  I know they are all waiting to see their photos, so I thought I’d start with one of them.

First up is Andrew. We had a good time walking around downtown and laughing at something different every time we turned the corner. It was a concert night that night, so downtown was a little busier than usual. And a little stranger than usual…;) Here are a few of my favorites….

And finally one with his truck. That hopefully got washed after this shot….. ;)

Location: Downtown Tulsa
