Today was picture day at her preschool. And apparently she cried and cried because she didn’t want to have her picture made. So she didn’t. Literally refused to even sit there. They even sent a note home saying they would refund my money.

Had they not said anything, I never would have known she was upset, because when she got home she hopped out of the car and begged me to take her picture.

Last week after we visited the pumpkin patch, she came home and drew a happy face, a sad face, and a scary face all around her pumpkin. And then she named each face, with names she obviously thought of herself: Alysia, Crouton, and Ganana.

At the time, I wondered why she spent so much time on all the faces (and also was slightly amused by her choice of names).

Now I think she was just looking for someone to identify with. And she really should have named all of them Kate.

Shari Barnes - Oh Kelly… she just knows no one else could come close to taking a good picture of her like her momma does!!! Why settle for mediocre when she has the BEST at home!! Glad to hear things are going well! Miss chatting with you!

Lacey McKay - Too funny. I’d like to see a pic of the pumpkin too. Actually, I guess you’ll have to take three pics. I can’t believe how long her hair is now! Makes me realize how long it has been since we saw you guys!

Liz - oh my goodness. It amazes me that she is about to turn 4. It seems like yesterday that I was visiting you in the hospital and holding her as a tiny baby!! She is such a precious soul and is going to do great things! Give her a great big hug from me! I agree with Gram the first one is my favorite too!

busy season

So sorry for the LONG absence. Good grief, at this point, I’m not sure how I could ever get caught up. Busy season is in full swing and I am meeting and photographing awesome kids and families almost every day. I’ve said it before, but I really do mean it when I say that I truly feel blessed to have so many great families to work with. I love this job, although this time of year is *a bit* exhausting for sure! Thanks for being so patient with me!

I figured while I was posting, I better do a sneak peek! One of these days I’ll get my act together and do these as I shoot them rather than weeks later……..Maybe a New Year’s Resolution?:)

This sweet girl just celebrated her first birthday and one of her big sisters was celebrating her birthday too, so their mom brought them for a fun session together. How cute are they?

LOVE the scrunch nose smile. Love it!

beautiful sisters

Um, this session was super fast, but super fun. How could it not be fun with sisters that look like this? Talk about making my job easy…..

Melissa - These are beautiful. The one with the desk reminds me of one of my favorite childhood stories, “The Secret Garden.”

some that I love

Well from this post it should be a little obvious that I am behind on editing personal photos. Especially since these were taken at the first of the summer. LOL.  But I love these, so even though I am sharing late, I still wanted to share.

My husband’s family farms wheat, and I have been dying to get a cute shot in the field of all three of my kids. But it just never seems to work. Mostly because there is work to do on the farm when the wheat is brown. You know, like harvest it. Soooo, my plans to get photos in the fields never quite pans out. But this year, courtesy of a thunderstorm, I finally got my wish. And got a picture I love of the three of mine together as well as a photo of all the grandkids for grandma. Double bonus!
